Company History

Founded in 1975 by Bob Mitchell, M & M Carpet was built on the vision to provide only the highest quality of service and products exclusively to interior designers. Bob was one of the first members of the original ASID Industry Foundation, now Industry Partners. During his time of ownership, he spent countless hours successfully promoting interior designers and the design profession. Today, M & M Carpet Showroom continues to build on that foundation by offering superior service and luxury flooring products to the design trade.

TOM CONNELL

President

Tom has spent his entire career in the home furnishings industry working in various capacities including sales, marketing and executive management. Through the years he has worked with the interior design community, retailers and industry suppliers and executives. He has served on multiple advisory boards ranging from new product introductions to marketing programs and strategies. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Texas ASID Gulf Coast Chapter as financial director. While Tom is actively involved in the daily operations of M & M Carpet, you may also find him out on a jobsite overseeing the product installation from start to finish.

DIANE MORRIS

Sales Consultant

Diane brings over 25 years of interior design and flooring experience to M & M Carpet. A graduate of the Art Institute of Houston’s Interior Design program, she began her career working on commercial healthcare projects before moving into the flooring industry. Diane’s interior design background along with her extensive knowledge of flooring products is a great asset to M & M. She enjoys working on projects from the initial design selection phase to installation, assisting clients in creating truly beautiful spaces.

MONNIE BOND

Sales Consultant

Monnie has been working in the flooring industry for over 29 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to M&M Carpet Showroom. He began his flooring career as a warehouse manager for a large flooring distributor and through the years he has progressed to become a true flooring expert. His most recent position was working with the Houston Showroom for over 20 years. Monnie is knowledgeable with all intricacies and aspects of carpet and custom rugs, with his expertise being in wood flooring.

BOB ZIFCAK

Showroom Manager

As Showroom Manager, Bob “Z” is the face and voice of M & M Carpet. He is no stranger to the home furnishings field as his background includes working with business owners at the wholesale level and interior designers for many years. At M&M, Bob keeps the operations in check as he maintains all of the scheduling, ordering, status checks, invoicing and collections.

SAM CONNELL

Showroom Sales

A natural when it comes to design and creativity, Sam’s keen eye is evident while assisting clients on the showroom floor. She is especially good at recommending colors, patterns and styles in order to pull all of the furnishings in a space together. Her knowledge of the home furnishings industry as well as her background in sales, marketing, and graphic design further enhance her design skills.

JOHN (MAC) MCCARTY

Warehouse Operations Manager

As the “behind the scene” master rug fabricator, Mac has been working with M & M Carpet for over 30 years, crafting the designs created by our clients. His impeccable attention to detail is like no other, making each of his projects a truly unique masterpiece. In addition to fabrication, he also coordinates all of the shipping, receiving and product installations. Mac is always up for a challenge and looks forward to creating any design ideas that come his way.

The carpet is beautiful and I feel quite at home with it already in spite of the change. The guys sent were great. They get an A+ and will come back tomorrow to finish the bathroom.
